Many strong teachers in the region's schools hold no formal teaching qualification, and the compliance pressure on schools is rising. Two routes fit around a teacher's current post: Assessment Only, for experienced teachers who can already evidence the standards, and Straight to Teaching, for those with gaps to close. Both lead to UK qualified teacher status without leaving the classroom.
